Former City star injured in car crash
Former Norwich City star Mick Channon will undergo surgery after being seriously injured in a crash in which a life-long friend died. Channon, 59, and his son Jack, 15, were both taken to hospital on Wednesday after the vehicle in which they were travelling crashed on the M1 as they returned to their Berkshire home.

Roeder delight at Bertrand England call
City boss Glenn Roeder hailed full-back Ryan Bertrand's first England Under-21 call-up as “fully deserved”. Bertrand, on loan from Chelsea, has been included in the squad for the first time for the European Championship qualifier against Portugal at Wembley on Friday, September 5.
